Games You’re Gonna Want To Get!

Posted by g3tech on June 30, 2007

First off is Will Wright’s Spore (which is being publish by EA). As of right now, it’s only going to be released on the DS and PC. Here’s the concept: “From the very tiniest forms of life to the intergalactic level of existence, you are in control of life itself in this simulation game by Will Wright. Beginning in the primordial ooze, players create a character from DNA that will grow, survive, and mate as it evolves from a single-celled organism to a fully-formed member of an establishing species. As more and more creatures inhabit the world, and as evolution forms the future, your species will join herds, clans, even civilizations. The more advanced the creatures of the planet grow, the more complex the strife of survival becomes. And while the player can continue gameplay in Spore at any level — playing as a cell, as a wild creature, or as a civilized and organized society – players can also step even further out and play the game from the planetary or interstellar level, while also going online to connect worlds with other gamers.” To Be Released: sometime in 2008

Sound kinda interesting? Here’s a trailer:

Next up, is a game that I’ve been looking forward to for a long time which is Unreal Tournament 2007. And it’s gonna be released on the PC, the PS2, and the 360. Here’s the description: “The Necris invasion has begun, and your clan was one of the first to be slaughtered. Head to the front lines and join this Epic battle to defend humanity while taking your revenge. Unreal Tournament 3 marks the return of the premiere tournament-style first-person shooter. Unreal Tournament 3 unleashes the full power of Unreal Engine 3, taking graphics, gameplay, and challenge to a whole new level. Players engage in intense and hyper-real battles with other human players online or against incredibly realistic Unreal artificial intelligence. Over two dozen weapons and vehicles have been upgraded and enhanced for maximum killing potential. Take on all comers in a variety of game modes including Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch, Capture the Flag, an all-new Warfare mode and more.” For those of you who are fans of the previous Unreal or Unreal Tournament games then you’ve got to get this game. To Be Released: Sept 3rd 2007

Here’s a great trailer:

Next, I’d like to introduce the next game in the Need For Speed series, called Need For Speed ProStreet, and it’s going to be released on pretty much every console and system, which means: DS, Wii, PSP, PS2, PS3 and 360. Already, we know there’s going to be a Collector’s Edition version for the 360, the PS2 and the PS3. Here’s the lowdown: “A new spin on the Need for Speed franchise, ProStreet thrusts players into a head-to-head competition against the best street racers in a multitude of racing showdowns. The game is a true taste of raw adrenaline and racing with consequences. Every dent, every scratch and every crumpled body panel is a battle scar, proof of your commitment and competitive mettle. With an aggressive and skilled AI system, you become immersed in an unmatched believable race experience. Add in a revolutionary online mode that will redefine the meaning of competitive social play, and Need for Speed ProStreet is the ultimate formula for an emotionally charged street racing showdown. It also pushes the “Autosculpt” technology to a new level, allowing you to directly impact your car’s performance for the first time as well as personalize its appearance.” (The Collector’s Edition packs in bonus content for fans of the Need for Speed series.) So check it out racers! To Be Released: November 2007

Let’s not forget the craziest gaming series on the planet (and one of the most popular) — Grand Theft Auto (San Andreas got a 9.9/10 on ign). GTA IV is going to be released only on the PS3 and the 360 (sorry PS2 fans) and, on these same two consoles, there’s also going to be a special edition released (The Grand Theft Auto IV Special Edition is presented in a customized Grand Theft Auto metal safety deposit box. The box contains a GTA IV artbook, a CD soundtrack, a keychain, and a limited edition duffle bag.) To Be Released: Oct 17th 2007 (so you better get your cash out, or if you have to, steal some money GTA fans — I’m just joking there —- don’t steal — it’s wrong — shame on you if you steal).

Here’s the only official trailer that exists:
